becoming undone – PART II: Right foot is the right hand. Left hand and the right foot, which is now the right hand, are holding hands while I’m walking through the space. Knee is head. Eyes are locked under the knee and peek onto the back wall. Shoulder blades are feet now and try to walk. »becoming undone« is a three-part project dealing with evolutionary modes of openness. WILHELM GROENER – Günther Wilhelm & Mariola Groener – showed the first part in summer 2015 as a hybrid between performance and exhibition at Kunstquartier Bethanien Berlin. Now the second part »becoming undone – PART II« is premiered in the frame of »Open Spaces #1 – 2016«. Together with the performers Anja Müller, Assaf Hochman and sound performer Rudi Fischerlehner, WILHELM GROENER transforms Studio 14 at the UFERSTUDIOS into a sort of large-scale laboratory. In various stationary experimental arrangements the reactive and transformative qualities of bodies and other substances are examined. The material is bent, shifted, connected and transmuted for all it ́s worth.

WILHELM GROENER: The artist Mariola Groener and dancer Günther Wilhelm have blended their names and arts into their alter ego WILHELM GROENER since 2001. With a predilection for the odd and absurd, their work uses elements of performance, dance and installation. The pieces »Vorgang benutzt«, »Paravent privé« and »Hotel Hassler« have been invited to the German TANZPLATTFORM 2000, 2006 and 2010. In spring 2011 they presented seven pieces of their opus during a retrospective called »WILHELM GROENER – born on 1st of May, 2001« at the UFERSTUDIOS. Lastly they presented the K-cycle between 2013 and 2015, to which the publication »aber auch« and the website www.aber-auch.net have been released.

Rudi Fischerlehner: born in Austria, lives in Berlin and plays the drums in projects of various shades of improvised music, noise, jazz and rock: in a trio with Olaf Rupp and Matthias Müller, with the bands Fiium Shaarrk and Gorilla Mask, and in a duo a Tonia Reeh. He produces music for videos, movies and performances, amongst others for Katrin Plavcak and Johanna Kirsch.
