Cooking Catastrophes

HAU Hebbel am Ufer (HAU3)

Production Details / Press Releases

The current production by Eva Meyer-Keller and Sybille Müller is a performance, a cooking show and a reflection on our future. Leading chefs serve up culinary scenarios marked by environmental catastrophes, wars and terrible accidents. It covers a spectrum from forest fires, flooded landscapes, avalanches, earthquakes, and meteor strikes to exploding oil rigs and crash ing jet planes. It smells, stinks and burns – disastrous events are not always easy to understand and to process. “Cooking Catastrophes” sets up the tension between pleasure and fear and plays with it. At the end of the performance the audience is invited to eat up the results of the desolate remains.
