Production Details / Press Releases

„I have been listening to baroque music and allowing the music to infiltrate my state of being and movement vocabulary. For this piece, I delved into modes of compulsive ornamentation and of exhausted collapse and allowed them to overlap one another, to give rise to one another, to negate one another, and to be in dialog with one another. Also, half-way through the process, this piece was completely re-worked around the limitation of a sprained knee, which made most of the movement floor-bound.” Lily Dwyer

In San Francisco, Lily Dwyer has danced for eight years as a founding member of LEVYdance, with Joe Goode Performance Group, Ellis Wood Dance (NYC), Erika Chong Shuch, and in films with RJ Muna/LeftSpace. She graduated with degrees in Dance/Performance Studies and Comparative Literature from UC Berkeley. Lily is interested in bringing dance to marginalized communities, and has worked for several years teaching dance to homeless women and children and to low-income public school children in the San Francisco Bay Area. Aside from dance, Lily finds refuge in her yoga practice and teaching. She teaches in Berlin at Home Yoga on Friedrichstrasse.
