“THE EARTH HAS PLUNGED INTO BLACKNESS. Light only exists when the sunlight hits something it can illuminate. The light strikes nowhere; that is why nothing but blackness can be seen. What are you looking at? What are you looking through? You can call it universe, but it is the infinity of space and the infinity of time.”
Eugene Cernan, the last man on the moon

IT STARTED WITH OUR SILENT FASCINATION for processes that are – in their immensity – beyond what we can transfix with our senses and rationally grasp. Absorbed by the influence of physical forces that are able to accelerate the orbit of planets and let them collide, displace tectonic plates, flood entire regions and cause a body to collapse, we practice movement principles that draw us intimate to the impact of these forces.

Paramount Movement: Desired as one singular movement that bears excess and meticulousness within itself and dares nothing less than to touch on the limits of space and time. It starts with what is imminent – the determination of the performative space through two bodies, the amplification of its sentient qualities, a well ordered lunacy. Lea Martini + Rodrigo Sobarzo

LABORATORY: PRIMARY COMMUNICATION Through the open sculpture “Laboratory: Primary Communication”, which can be seen in the Festsaal’s foyer, Daniela Thomsen shows a work that deals with emotional and mental communication. The artist dares to think outside our conception of time; a communication that works independent of millions of kilometers of distance – an earthly sculpture, that steps into the sphere of appearance.

Daniela Thomsen’s paintings are conditioned by laws of nature. The paint on the paper is the seismogram of a dance performance. The dripping ink dissolves in the water. Manifestation of the beautiful as something truthful. From the invisible, something comes to light: wants to become something, a first manifestation; a crystal.
