Production Details / Press Releases

People use language everywhere every single day. Depending on when and where something is said, speaking constitutes concrete spaces and specific places in them. TONTRÄGER deals with the possibilities of translating texts into movement, sound and corporeality and plays with ever-new configurations of body, space and object. This makes otherwise hidden places visible to the viewer. Listening, distributing and arranging, two bodies explore their possible actions in the empty spaces between text, object and stage.

Darko Dragičević (1979,) born in Belgrade, lives in Berlin. He studied visual arts at The International College of Arts & Sciences in Milan and filmmaking at NYFA, New York City. In his work as Visual Artist, Filmmaker and Performer he explores interdisciplinary and cross-media collaborations. His works have been presented internationally at numerous festivals, solo and group exhibitions. Recent projects include the choreography “Approximations”, the documentary film “The Body as Archive”, A Tanzfonds-Erbe-Project and a performance series titled “Failure as Practice”, commissioned by Goethe-Institut Belgrade.

Martin Sonderkamp studied dance and choreography at the SNDO Amsterdam. His choreographic work seeks to expand disciplinary and aesthetic boundaries between dance, visual art and music and features forms of social choreography, mixed media installations and scores for extemporary performances. Most recent works include “Approximations” (2015), “Task 14” (2014), “Rewired” (2013) and “Social Movement” (2012). He co-founded and danced with Amsterdam based Magpie Music Dance Company (1995-2006) and performed in numerous improvisation events across Europe, the US and Asia.
