Carolin Schmidt is a dancer, choreographer and movement pedagogue, she received her education in Essen (Dore-Jacobs-Schule), Amsterdam (SNDO) and Freiburg (motion type). She lives and works in Berlin. In her work, she deals with the interfaces between the art genres and with the limits of the possibilities of the respective types of expression in order to serve each other. Choreographically, she is looking for the principles of dance in language and the linguistic principles of dance. Their work is characterized by workshops and coaching. With Jeremy Wade, Meg Stuart, Jonathan Burrows and Erna Omarsdottir.

„Ich werde Baum, Strauch, Wald, Meer und Wiese. Geht das denn? Natürlich nicht. Das ist nur auch so eine Art von Weltflucht, halt in die Welt hinein, sich in der Welt als Welt verstecken. Im Versuch, nicht zu sein, was ich bin, wird offensichtlich, was ich eigentlich zu sein scheine. Carolin Schmidt ist Tänzerin, Choreografin und Bewegungspädagogin, sie erhielt Ihre Ausbildung in Essen (Dore-Jacobs-Schule), Amsterdam (SNDO) und Freiburg (bewegungsart). Sie lebt und arbeitet in Berlin. In Ihrer Arbeit beschäftigt sie sich mit den Schnittstellen zwischen den Kunstsparten und mit den Grenzen der Möglichkeiten der jeweiligen Ausdrucksarten, um sich der jeweils anderen zu bedienen. Choreografisch sucht sie nach Prinzipien des Tanzes in der Sprache und nach Sprachprinzipien im Tanz. Ihre Arbeit ist geprägt durch Workshops und Coachings u.a. mit Jeremy Wade, Meg Stuart, Jonathan Burrows und Erna Omarsdottir.
