WILHELM GROENER hat sechs KünstlerInnen aus verschiedenen Disziplinen eingeladen, um mit ihnen einen Arbeitsprozess zu teilen, welcher die künstlerische Vielfalt und physische Differenz in das Projekt integriert. Aus der Unterscheidung der Ansätze und Auffassungen, der Praktiken und Körper ist eine Polyphonie entstanden, die im genauen Zuhören und aufmerksamen Betrachten eine Aufführung des Miteinander ermöglicht. Jedes Mit-Teilen markiert auch eine Teilung, jede Unterscheidung voneinander ist auch eine Bewegung aufeinander zu.

WILHELM GROENER has invited six artists from different disciplines to share a mutual working process, integrating artistic diversity and physical difference into the project. From distinguishing concepts and approaches, practices and bodies, a performative polyphony has emanated. It sets forth acts of togetherness, conducted by precise listening and attentive beholding. Imparting marks both sharing and separation, each distinction forms as well a movement towards the other.

WILHELM GROENER Seit 2001 verbinden die Künstlerin Mariola Groener und der Tänzer Günther Wilhelm ihre Namen und Künste zum Label WILHELM GROENER. Mit einer Vorliebe für das Abseitige und Absurde verwenden sie in ihren Arbeiten Elemente aus Performance, Tanz und Installation. Im Frühjahr diesen Jahres haben sie die Arbeiten der letzten Dekade Revue passieren lassen: in der Retrospektive "WILHELM GROENER - geboren am 1. Mai 2001" wurden sieben Stücke aus ihrem Oeuvre in den UFERSTUDIOS präsentiert.

The artist Mariola Groener and dancer/choreographer Günther Wilhelm have blended their names and arts since 2001 into their alter ego WILHELM GROENER. With a predilection for the odd and absurd, their work uses elements of performance, dance and installation. This spring they looked back at their works of the last decade and presented seven pieces of their opus during a retrospective called WILHELM GROENER – born on 1st of May, 2001" at the UFERSTUDIOS.

Ulrike Bodammer absolvierte 2002 die Zirkushochschule Ecole Supérieur des Arts du Cirque in Brüssel, spezialisiert in der Technik Partnerakrobatin. Sie ist Lehrerin für Power Vinyasa Flow Yoga und für Kundalini Yoga; sie ist Reiki Meisterin nach Dr. Usui. Sie arbeitete für die Belgische Nouveau Cirque Company ‚Feria Musika'. Ab 2003 tanzte sie in mehreren Produktionen von Jess Curtis/Gravity (Berlin/San Francisco) und choreographierte ihre eigenen Stücke. Seit 2006 tanzt, realisiert und installiert sie Arbeiten von Tino Sehgal. 2010 kreierte sie das Installationsstück "Gimme Shelter" zusammen mit ihrem Partner Frank Willens und ihrem gemeinsamen Sohn Elijas.

Ulrike Bodammer (Berlin, Germany) graduated in 2002 from L'Ecole Supérieur des Arts du Cirque in Brussels - specialized in partner acrobatics. She is a teacher for Power Vinyasa Flow yoga and Kundalini yoga as well as a Reiki master after Dr. Usui. She worked with the Belgian nouveau cirque company ‚Feria Musika'. 2003 she started dancing in several productions from Jess Curtis/Gravity (Berlin/San Francisco) and choreographed her own work. Since 2006 she is dancing and setting the work of Tino Sehgal. 2010 She created the installation work "Gimme Shelter" together with her partner Frank Willens and their son Elijas.

Ben Cottrell ist Künstler und lebt in Berlin. Er studierte am Cheltenham College of Art. In seiner Arbeit verwendet er verschiedenste Medien wie Zeichnung, Malerei, Skulptur und Site-Specific- Installation. Er stellt international aus, u. a. die Ausstellungen "Nova" in Ten Haaf Projects/Amsterdam, "Under the Sun" in der Galerie Ben Kaufmann/Berlin, "Revelation" in der Sariev Gallery/Plovdiv und "Solar Plexus" in der Galerie Warhus Rittershaus/Köln. Cottrell is Mitbegründer des Projekt- und Ausstellungsraums ‚forever and a day büro' und nimmt an verschiedenen Produktionen und Performances teil, z.B. "Paravent privé" (2005) von WILHELM GROENER.

Ben Cottrell is a Berlin-based British artist who studied at the Cheltenham College of Art. Cottrell works with a diverse range of media including drawing, painting, sculpture and site-specific installation. He exhibits internationally. Exhibitions including "Nova" in Ten Haaf Projects/Amsterdam, "Under the Sun" in Galerie Ben Kaufmann/Berlin, "Revelation" in Sariev Gallery/Plovdiv and "Solar Plexus" in Galerie Warhus Rittershaus/Köln. Mariola Groener, in Zabrze (Polen) geboren, wuchs in München auf. Sie studierte Fotografie und Video an der HdK Berlin und an der UGH Essen/Folkwang. Sie ist Preisträgerin des Wettbewerbs "Das große stille Bild" in NRW. Neben Ihrer Co-Regietätigkeit als WILHELM GROENER ist sie weiterhin als freie Künstlerin tätig und stellt ihre Arbeiten im In- und Ausland aus, zuletzt "Revelation" in der Sariev Gallery/Plovdiv in Bulgarien. Außerdem ist sie Mitbegründerin des Projekt- und Ausstellungsraums ‚forever and a day Büro' (www.foreverandadaybuero.net).

Mariola Groener, born in Zabrze (Poland), grew up in Munich. She studied photography and video at HdK Berlin and UGH-Essen. She was awarded the photography-competition "Das große stille Bild". In addition to her position as co-director of WILHELM GROENER, she is an artist exhibiting her works at home and abroad, recently "Revelation" in Sariev Gallery/Plovdiv in Bulgaria. She is also cofounder of the project and exhibition space ‚forever and a day Büro' (www.foreverandadaybuero.net).

Ulrich Huhn studierte modernen Bühnentanz an der Rotterdamse Dansacademie in den Niederlanden. Anschließend arbeitete er als freischaffender Tänzer in verschiedenen Tanz- und Opernproduktionen in Amsterdam. Er war festes Ensemblemitglied bei VA Wölfl's NEUER TANZ in Düsseldorf. In Berlin arbeitet er u. a. mit Rheinhild Hoffmann, Hanna Hegenscheidt und WILHELM GROENER. Zur Zeit studiert er Gesellschafts- und Wirtschaftskommunikation an der UdK Berlin und ist außerdem Mitglied des Künstlerpools von ‚TanzZeit - Zeit für Tanz in Schulen'.

Ulrich Huhn studied Modern Dance at the Rotterdamse Dansacademie in the Netherlands. Afterwards, he performed as a dancer in various dance and opera productions in Amsterdam. He was an ensemble member of VA Wölfl's Neuer Tanz in Düsseldorf. In Berlin he performs amongst others with Rheinhild Hoffmann, Hanna Hegenscheidt and WILHELM GROENER. He is currently studying Communication in Social and Economic Contexts at the Berlin University of the Arts and is also a member of the artists' pool for ‚TanzZeit - Zeit für Tanz in Schulen'.

Maria F. Scaroni bewegt sich seit 1996 in dem weiten Feld des Lernens und Tanzschaffens: von Tanzproduktionen für das italienische Fernsehen bis zu postmodernen Tanztechniken, von Kontaktimprovisation bis zu Literaturwissenschaft und theoretischer Auseinandersetzung. Im Mittelpunkt von Scaronis Arbeit steht der Prozess der Kollaboration, sie spielt mit Erfahrungen von Zeit und Dauer und beschäftigt sich mit der Kreuzung von Performance, Choreografie und Installation. Sie gehört dem Künstlernetzwerk AADK in Berlin an. www.aadk.org

From Italian TV dance productions to release-based and post-modern dance techniques, from contact improvisation to literature studies and theoretical engagement, Maria F. Scaroni is moving through the complex network of learning and making dances since 1996. Scaroni's works focus on the process of collaboration, play with durational experiences and are featured by a crossbreeding between performance, choreography and installation. She is part of the artistic network AADK in Berlin. www.aadk.org

Peter Stamer arbeitet als freier Regisseur, Dramaturg, Kurator und Performer. U.a. hat er mit dem Choreografen Philipp Gehmacher, der Regisseurin Claudia Bosse und dem Performer Daniel Aschwanden zusammengearbeitet, mit welchem er verschiedene performative Formate entwickelt hat, wie z.B. die halb-dokumentarische Theaterinstallation "The Path of Money". 2008 und 2010 kuratierte er die Tanznacht Berlin, 2011 hat Peter gemeinsam mit Silke Bake das NU Performance Festival im Rahmen der Kulturhauptstadt Tallinn konzipiert. Derzeit entwickelt er ein neues Theaterprojekt mit dem Titel "For Your Eyes Only", das 2012 in Berlin und Wien herauskommen soll; mit der österreichischen Theatergruppe toxic dreams arbeitet er an einem Projekt über John F. Kennedy für Frühjahr 2012.

Peter Stamer works as free-lance director, dramaturg, curator, and performer. A.o., he has been collaborating with choreographer Philipp Gehmacher, director Claudia Bosse, and performer Daniel Aschwanden with whom he developed diverse performative formats such as the documentary theatre installation "The Path of Money". In 2008 and 2010, Peter curated the festival Tanznacht Berlin, in 2011 he conceived the NU Performance Festival for Tallinn2011 (with Silke Bake). He is currently working on a new theatreproject "For Your Eyes Only" and a piece in collaboration with toxic dreams on John F. Kennedy will premiere in spring 2012.

Günther Wilhelm, in München aufgewachsen, studierte Butoh, klassischen und modernen Tanz in München und Berlin. Er war langjähriges Mitglied von VA Wölfls NEUER TANZ in Düsseldorf und arbeitete u.a. mit Dumb Type und Anna Huber. Er war Stipendiat der Stiftung Kulturfonds und erhielt das Berliner Tanzstipendium.

Günther Wilhelm, born in Munich, studied Butoh, classical and moder dance in Munich and Berlin. He was a long time member of VA Wölfl's NEUER TANZ and worked a.o. with Dump Type and Anna Huber. He received the scholarship of Stiftung Kulturfonds and the Berlin dance and choreograpy scholarship.

Frank Willens beschäftigt sich seit fast seinem halben Leben als Tänzer. Er gibt kein Essen an die Hungrigen der Welt. Er baut keine Waisenhäuser. Er setzt sich nicht auf den Gipfel des Berges, um für den Frieden der Welt zu meditieren. Er krabbelt keine tausend Kilometer zu einem heiligen Ort, um seine Sünden zu bereuen und das Gesicht Gottes zu sehen. Er macht auch keine ehrenamtliche Arbeit bei dem Altersheim im Kiez. Normalerweise kauft er auch keine Obdachlosenzeitung von dem halb besoffenem Typ in der U-Bahn, und wenn er das doch macht, liest er die Zeitung fast nie. Er tanzt und versucht dadurch ein wertvolles Leben zu üben. Das ist es, was er anzubieten hat.

Frank Willens has been dancing for almost half his life. He's not feeding the hungry. He's not building orphanages. He doesn't sit on a mountaintop and meditate for world peace. He doesn't crawl thousands of miles to some holy site to repent for his sins and catch a glimpse of the face of God. He doesn't even volunteer at the local senior center. Usually he doesn't buy the homeless newspaper from the half-drunk dude on the u-bahn, and when he does, he rarely reads it. He dances and tries to live a meaningful life within this context. This is his offering.

Silke Bake arbeitet als Dramaturgin und Kuratorin; u.a. mit Jana Unmüßig, Anne Juren und Milli Bitterli. Gemeinsam mit dem Kurator André Lepecki verantwortete sie zwei Ausgaben des Festivals IN TRANSIT (Haus der Kulturen der Welt, Berlin 2008/2009). Mit Peter Stamer gestaltete sie das NU Performance Festival im Rahmen von Tallinn 2011. Derzeit arbeitet sie in Berlin gemeinsam mit Reinhild Hoffmann, Kattrin Deufert, Thomas Plischke an dem Cage-Projekt "Song Books als Spielanleitung" an der Akademie der Künste und mit Bettina Knaup an der Performance Platform. Affective Bodies für die Sophiensäle.

Silke Bake works as dramaturg and curator, a.o. with Jana Unmüßig, Anne Juren and Milli Bitterli. Together with curator André Lepecki she was responsible for two editions of the festival IN TRANSIT (Haus der Kulturen der Welt, Berlin 2008/2009). She conceived the NU Performance Festival for Tallinn2011 (together with Peter Stamer). In Berlin, she is currrently preparing (together with Reinhild Hoffmann, Kattrin Deufert and Thomas Plischke) the Cage-project "Song Books als Spielanleitung" at the Academy of the Arts. Bruno Pocheron, lebt in Berlin, studierte Bildende Kunst in Frankreich. Er arbeitete als technischer Leiter, Licht- und Sounddesigner sowie Performer u.a. mit Christine De Smedt, Alix Eynaudi, Anne Juren. Gemeinsam mit Isabelle Schad und Ben Anderson initiierte er das kollaborative Framework Good Work. Er ist Mitgründer des kollektiven Arbeitsplatzes Wiesen55 und des kollaborativen Netzwerks Gangplank.

Bruno Pocheron, living in Berlin, has studied fine arts in France. He works as technical director, light- and sounddesigner as well as performer, among others with Christine de Smedt, Alix Eynaudi, Anne Juren. Together with Isabelle Schad and Ben Anderson, he founded the collaborative framework Good Works. He is also co-founder of the collective working place Wiesen55 and of the collective network Gangplank.

TiTo, lebt seit längerem wieder in Berlin. Er ist Erfinder und Sozialarbeiter. Geboren in Tivoli. Ausgedehnte Studien über, unter und auf Parkbänken. Mitglied von Don Chi Clan, Lixoluxopóetico, Alboth!, Speeding Buddha und ¿illcomunicado?.
