Anna Nowicka studied dance at the SEAD Salzburg Experimental Academy of Dance and graduated from the Hochschule für Schauspielkunst Ernst Busch in Berlin with a master’s degree in choreography. One of her first dance performances, the solo “the truth is just a plain picture. said bob ”(2010) was selected for the Polish Dance Platform (2012), for the Fringe Festival in Edinburgh (2014) and was presented as part of the Tanztage Berlin festival in Sophiensæle (2011). With her solo “raw light” (2017) she won a national competition in Poland and became part of the Polish Dance Network (2018). The piece was shown at the Un//Polished 2 Festival in DOCK 11 and in the program of the Potsdamer Tanztage (2019). She showed excerpts from the piece during her artist exchange at the Judson Memorial Church in New York. Anna Nowicka was awarded the DAAD Prize, followed by the choreography scholarship from the Studienstiftung des Deutschen Volkes, the dance scholarship from the city of Berlin and the jury award of the 100 ° Festival 2012.
