In a situation between merry-go-round, arena, petri dish and dissecting table, the performance A.E. circumscribes scenarios of origin and visions of progress.
The auditorium of the Veterinary Anatomy Theater (Tieranatomisches Theater) connects such evolutionary and technologic questions with the historical context of anatomical and metaphorical ‘dismembering’. Dissecting gazes and the accompanying constructions of ‚self and other’ are to undergo critical revisions by the means of dance, sound and language.
The spectators become witnesses to the performers’ anatomical probing and movement explorations. Together they create spaces of resonance for past, present and future bodies. Actions and movements oscillate between natural and artificial codedness – open towards manyfold interpretations and points of view.
