In “Transition”, which premiered in September 2014, laborgras examined the fleeting moment of a blink of the eye in the continuum of time – the ephemeral and unstable moments of the before and the after. “Ambulo ergo sum” now expands this basic assumption of an inevitable occurring through conscious, physical perception: in every movement, with every step, reality changes. Although these changes seem to be hardly recognizable, they still exist and can thus be shaped. Our perspective constantly shifts and so do our perceptions and experiences.

With “Ambulo ergo sum”, laborgras is investigating the spaces opened up by these shifting points of view; the impermanence, the uncertainties, the instability, while reaching from one step to another. Since April 2013, laborgras has been working with four dancers on the subject of the Renaissance of contemporary dance. The leitmotif and goal is a return to what the artist as a person and his work constitutes. “Transition” as a foundation for “Ambulo ergo sum” was, after “Retour”, the second production in the framework of this long term project: “The efforts were rewarded, alone because – as so rarely seen in contemporary dance – a breeze of lightness and even humor gently blows through this hour-long evening.” (Volkmar Draeger, tanznetz.de, 08.09.2014)
