Christoph Winkler

Baader – Choreografie einer Radikalisierung

Production Details / Press Releases

christoph-winkler.com

In the solo Baader – Choreography of a Radicalization, Christoph Winkler explores the possibilities of embodying “evil” characters in contemporary dance based on the persona of German terrorist Andreas Baader.

Baader was a master of self-presentation from a very early stage on. His instrumentalization of the body as “holiest weapon” of the revolution and its strategic use for the implementation of intellectual statements even after the expiration of his own physical existance makes him the ideal subject for dance.

Baader em-bodied an extreme type of person, but what really is “evil”; how does the concept of em-bodiment change, when defined as a physical act?
