Production Details / Press Releases
“Camouflage” is a visualization of my identity conflict. It is designed as a hide and seek game ― performed by dancers using their bodies and light in an open undefined space. Extended out of a “one man show”, four woman finding themselves shadowing and identifying with each other. The performance is driven by a movement quality inspired from the origin of morphing: changing smoothly from on image to another by small gradual steps using (computer) animation techniques. Images from mixed martial arts, samurais and geishas define the performance in the aesthetics as well as in the meaning: being a female artist (geisha = female entertainer) who is committed to her work keeping a certain image alive.
