Production Details / Press Releases
Astronomical theories claim that 85 percent of the universe consists of darkmatter. Can the power of this tremendous mass be used to free bodies from rigid categorisations? This is a guiding question behind the new work by Cherish Menzo. The inspiration they draw from posthumanism and Afrofuturism becomes physically tangible on stage, for example through the use of dark liquids and fabrics. Prior to the performances, persons of the local African diaspora come together for a Distorted Rap Choir workshop. The choir provides the soundtrack to this futuristic voyage of discovery into the universe of anti-bodies.
