Production Details / Press Releases
Very soon we will be pleased by perfect health and relish all of our body, will boisterously be celebrating our lives and do perky dances even in mature age: for our third eye will be connecting us with all beings, the speaking and the mute ones, the ones that dance in the wind and the ones that wobble in the waters, the monad ones and the uncounted for – we will be conversing with the source of life and learn that life consists of a perpetual motion, a cycle without beginning or end. That everything will be in flux and nothing will be going down the drain. Something like that.
In their new production HEILUNG (HEALING), WILHELM GROENER (Günther Wilhelm & Mariola Groener) take some choreographic cues from chants, movements and dances as they are being used in healing practices. With an immanent wink of the eye, the artist duo look at body images that are said to originate from HEALING. They focus on the smooth transition between the individual’s wish for salvation and the realness of his perception the latter of which seems sometimes adverse to HEALING. Together with Ulrich Huhn and Anna Melnikova, WILHELM GROENER develop a language of movement in which the outer movement is motivated by the inner one without stating if the bodies reconcile with themselves or if they simply misunderstand each other.
