Production Details / Press Releases
Time stretches out and the body dwells almost numbly in this space between. It has been told that it must wait. It waits because something is expected of it. And that is: to be patient. It is both the body in the middle of the space and the witness to its weary presence. It has not yet been decided what this body even stands for and how the space is to be decorated by it. The body does not know how much longer it has to remain in this waiting state. But it gives itself hope and determines an end:I wash my clothes, hang them up and wait for them to dry. Once it is dry, the waiting is over. This work explores the phenomenon of the waiting body in modern society through text, sound and movement.
At the beginning of their second year, the students of the MA Choreography present choreographies that they have developed together with composition students from klangzeitort, the Institute for New Music at the Berlin University of the Arts and the Hanns Eisler Academy of Music. One choreography student and one composition student will test forms of interdisciplinary collaboration and develop projects on freely chosen themes.
The works will be shown in two different blocks in the studio hall of the HfM Hanns Eisler Berlin (Program 1) and in the HfS Ernst Busch on the Bühne Unten (Program 2).
