Improvisation! In four newly curated duos, four experienced dance improvisers and four musical improvisers explore the shallows, slants and nuances between their disciplines. Individual approaches and vocabularies come together and weave new dialogues. Curated by Meinrad Kneer and Jenny Haack.
Annelie Andre (A), completed her MA in Choreography at the HZT Berlin in 2018. Since then she has worked as a choreographer for the Volksbühne Berlin and developed her own pieces. In 2019, she received the entry-level project funding of the Berlin Senate for her solo project “META”. In summer 2019 she took part in the BangaloREsidency (Goethe Institute). In 2020, she created the pieces “minimal_drift” and “alright_OK”. In 2021 she will receive a residency scholarship at Kün-stlerhaus Lukas/Ahrenshoop and the Tanzrecherche NRW. As an artist, she is particularly interest-ed in the interdisciplinary connection of dance, text, space and sound.
Andreas Willers is regarded as an exceptional guitarist with an enormous stylistic background and wide-ranging technical and tonal possibilities, which are supported by a sure sense of form and emotional power. He made his national debut with a solo performance at the Total Music Meeting in 1981 and has worked with many renowned greats as well as a composer and interpreter in various areas of jazz and new music and is represented on over 50 albums.
The soundance festival berlin presents joint projects by dancers, choreographers, musicians and composers from the Berlin independent scene and invites international guest artists. As a stimulus for dialogue between the various disciplines, the festival presents a broad spectrum of artistic styles, from contemporary dance to real-time music, from Post Butoh to New Jazz and improvisation – analog and electronic. Across generations, diverse works and formats between sound and movement will be experienced by audiences in theater and urban space.
