Production Details / Press Releases
The performance explores the embodiment of the heroic roles that women take living in an environment that challenges them harshly. The piece deals with this demigoddess’ suit that shrinks and tightens, threatening to leave them breathless. Through the fusion of dance, visual arts and ritual, „Los Malos Hábitos“ weaves a powerful narrative that delves into the inner conflicts and burdens women face conforming to societal expectations.
In a fable-like storytelling that fuses the folklore and mythology of the female archetype in Latin American culture as the main character and sends her on a search for herself. The joint composition of costume, rituals and movement create powerful visual statement onstage, that tap on the archetypal psyche and appeal to an intuitive ancestral wisdom. A duet that embodies the guttural experience of peeling off in the process of invoking our intrinsic and raw vital force.
