Resonant Bodies

DOCK 11

Production Details / Press Releases

Resonant Bodies is a live performance for solo drums and two dancers that moves poetically and genre fluidly between music and dance. It explores rhythm as connecting element between the two media in synergetic ways.

Three performers investigate the power of rhythm as a means of self-expression, enter relations and unfold dialogues with each other. Single movements fan out in complexity, motifs and sequences inscribe themselves into the space through repetition, formal and scenic moments alternate. Classical forms such as prelude, scherzo, reprise or coda are picked up and reinterpreted from a free art perspective.

Resonant Bodies is a three-act piece consisting of seven phases that looks at composed and improvised interactions between music and dance and invites the audience to dive into the multi-layered resonances of the piece.

Hannah Schillinger is a choreographer and dance artist. Her movement language is rooted in European-American lineages of modern and postmodern dance, with classical and pop cultural influences. Hannah studied BA Modern Theatre Dance at the Amsterdam University of the Arts and completed an MA in Choreography at the HZT Berlin.
