SOFTER SWELLS is a dance, disjointed both in structure and content. It illustrates a landscape of rapidly shifting memories. The roots of the work incorporate Irish cultural references pertaining to gender and sexual attitudes.Softer Swells has been performed in Ireland, Italy, the United Kingdom, Sweden, Poland and in France. The solo was created in Dublin during 2012 with Anna Kaszuba, Ilan Kav and Juan Corres Benito, founding members of DISH Dance. Softer Swells was an Aerowaves selection in 2014.

AOIFE MCATAMNEY graduated from the D.A.N.C.E Across Europe program in 2009, directed by William Forsythe, Wayne McGregor, Frédéric Flamand and Angelin Preljocaj. She then went on to work with Sara Rudner (NYC), Regina van Berkle (GER), Anneke Hansen (NYC), Emma Martin (IRE) and T.R.A.S.H (NL). Aoife was an Associate Artist of DanceIreland for 2012, Modul Dance Carte Blanche Artist for 2012/13, an Aerowaves artist for 2014 and a co-founder of DISH Dance. Choreografies are Sweetheart that’s the interesting part…, The Spinner, EMPTY ECHO/Softer Swells, What’s The Matter? and EGG CHARADEmade with collaborator Nina Vallon. Aoife works collaboratively with Sweetie, Sit Down and choreographers Igor Urzelia and Moreno Solinas. She is supported by The Arts Council of Ireland, Tiger Dublin Fringe Festival, FRINGE LAB and is produced by Ellie Creighton.
