In their duets “YEW” and “YEW: outside” Angela Schubot and Jared Gradinger immersed themselves deeply in Nature and with its inherent intelligence. “The Nature of Us” is the third part of their new cycle of work in co-creation with Nature. Here they have invited both plant allies as well as five performers, a sound gardener, a light gardener and audience into a post-human group choreography. On stage, a soil-less garden with multiple voices emerge from sounds and bodies. “The Nature of Us” searches for a consciousness that neither suppresses nor exaggerates Nature; but instead, makes space for a co-creative polyphony. In the more than 10-year history of their collaboration, “The Nature of Us” is the first ensemble piece by the choreographer duo Schubot & Gradinger.
