Two blinded performers remember what they have never experienced, solely visible for their inner eye. They make an audience imagine what is actually not there, they reach out into the dark, try to grasp the stories which are buried in themselves; each body tries to re-member pieces of a plot nobody has ever uttered, experienced before; from his point-of-view, the performer-body shares his memory with the blind eye, the blind ‚I’ of his co- actor. Thus a collective body, a polyphonic subject, recollects memories by piecing them together – in an ultimate gesture of re-membering.
In this performance we combine story telling and work on physical representation with the help of a performative tool called ‚Inner Eye Movement’. We look at blindness as a motor for film stories, development of movie characters and text. Unseen is a follow-up of a research workshop at the Notafe Festival in Viljandi/Estonia 2011. The improvisation is part of the larger project FYEO that will be presented in 2012 in Berlin and Vienna.
