Production Details / Press Releases

In 1914, Mary Wigman premiered her famous solo Hexentanz, an ecstatic “return to nature.” In 2014, I entered Berlin, its clubs, its base and beats, to return to some kind of nature as well. Here I learned that ecstasy comes in pills- monochromatic medicine for rumbling root to crown. Hedonism becomes hypnosis and so does my dancing. In techno I trip in trance and there I find truth. But every weekend ends and again time thrusts me into this neoliberal nightmare. Now pleasure is pricy and precarious, as are these shortcuts to spirituality. How did life get so witchy by asking which way?
