Production Details / Press Releases
ZWINK is an object dance in public space that invests in encounter and consists of improvisation – music and dance – in immediate response to what we find in a square, in a park, in front of a church, walking through the city: in Robert Kis’ object-costume. We invite those present and passing to become aware of the space and their physicality in it. To let them experience the beauty and poetry of being alive in a public space – paying attention to detail: the charm of a fleeting moment, a smile, a wink – in movement and encounter.
Katrin Schafitel lives in Munich and has been one of the most influential figures in the independ-ent Munich dance scene since 1999. She has worked with various choreographers and directors such as Rosemary Butcher, Romeo Castellucci, Anna Konjetzky, Andreas Kriegenburg, etc. In ad-dition to appearances at the Bavarian State Opera and other national stages, she can also be seen at international festivals. She has repeatedly received working and further education scholarships from the city of Munich. She is currently particularly interested in the format of live improvisation and composition on stage with contemporary dancers and musicians.
Katrin Vogel, born in 1967 in Dresden, studied horn at the Hanns Eisler Academy of Music in Ber-lin. She has been deputy principal horn of the Komische Oper Berlin since 1990. In the same year she began to realise her own compositional as well as improvisational projects and to expand her repertoire with alphorn. Katrin is a member of the ensemble “alphorn absolut berlin” and has been involved with new music and improvisation in connection with performing/visual artists for over 30 years. From 2012-16 she studied cultural management with a personal focus on cultural mediation and intercultural projects.
