“Chop it!” Takes place somewhere between dance performance and live installation. It opens the viewer’s senses and draws him into the meditative world of woodcutting. The piece is based on improvisation scores and the relationship of the performer to wood.

Pauliina Aladin is a dance artist with many faces. The Dance Currency Tampere Festival has selected her as a dance artist of the year 2013. She completed her dance education at the Turku Arts Academy in Finland in 2005. Since then she has worked as a freelance dancer and choreographer in Finland, New York City and Berlin, among others. With the choreographers Liisa Risu, Carl Knif and Reetta-Kaisa Iles as well as with the Myrskyryhmä Company and in collaboration with other dancers, choreographers, musicians and visual artists.

“Chop it!” findet irgendwo zwischen Tanzperformance und Live-Installation statt. Es öffnet dem Zuschauer die Sinne und zieht ihn in die meditative Welt des Holzfällens. Das Stück basiert auf Improvisationsscores und der Beziehung der Performerin zu Holz.

Ihre Tanzausbildung schloss sie 2005 an der Turku Arts Academy in Finnland ab. Seitdem arbeitet sie als freiberufliche Tänzerin und Choreografin in Finnland, New York City und Berlin u.a. mit den Choreografen Liisa Risu, Carl Knif und Reetta-Kaisa Iles sowie mit der Myrskyryhmä Company und in Kollaboration mit anderen Tänzern, Choreografen, Musikern und Bildenden Künstlern.
