FRICTION tests stress fields between body and space under the condition of insulation. The starting point of the performance is the performer in the empty space. He confronts himself and, through action and reaction, enters into dialogue with his body and the space, which thus creates a condition of the performer in which he is at the same time and by whom he is moved. Between body and space an unequaled urgency prevails. Hear. Listen silently. Do not listen and say nothing. Do not ask. And say, “Nothing.” And ask: “Nothing?” In this void, states are broken down to their basal structure, a resonance space is created, which makes emptiness audible to experience and silence.

FRICTION erprobt Spannungsfelder zwischen Körper und Raum unter der Voraussetzung von Isolation. Ausgangspunkt der Performance ist der Performer im leeren Raum. Er konfrontiert sich mit sich selbst und tritt durch Aktion und Reaktion in Dialog mit seinem Körper und dem Raum, der so einen Zustand des Performers entwirft, in dem er sich zugleich befindet und von dem er bewegt wird. Zwischen Körper und Raum spannt sich eine unkonkrete Dringlichkeit. Hören. Stille hören. Nichts hören und nichts sagen. Nichts fragen. Und sagen: “Nichts.” Und fragen: “Nichts?” In dieser Leere werden Zustände auf ihre basale Struktur heruntergebrochen, ein Resonanzraum entsteht, der Leere zur Erfahrung und Stille hörbar werden lässt.
