“Tanzabend” is a new series in which the theater Thikwa presents two dance sketches. The open, playful title is a program. Choreographers and dancers of the Berlin and international scene meet with Thikwa performers under a motto, but without an exact thematic theme: Encounters of the very special kind.

Five completely different dancers explore boundaries of common and strange identities, the mind and body of their ego in the second choreography of the evening, “Koko karaa – Here da” by Makiko Tominaga: I am here. No matter where I am, actually I am always here – where my body is. Is that correct? When I’m in my mind, where am I at this moment? Is my body, then, merely an empty shell, which in turn carries on complex organic processes?

“Tanzabend” heißt eine neue Reihe, in der das Theater Thikwa jeweils zwei Tanzskizzen vorstellt. Der offene, spielerische Titel ist Programm. Unter einem Motto, aber ohne genaue Themenvorgabe treffen Choreografen und Tänzer der Berliner und internationalen Szene auf Thikwa-Performer: Begegnungen der ganz besonderen Art.

Fünf vollkommen unterschiedliche Tänzer erkunden Grenzen gemeinsamer und fremder Identitäten, verorten Geist und Körper ihres Ichs in der zweiten Choreografie des Abends, “Koko karaa – Hier da” von Makiko Tominaga: Ich bin hier. Egal wo ich bin, eigentlich bin ich immer hier – da, wo mein Körper ist. Stimmt das? Wenn ich in Gedanken bin, wo bin ich in diesem Augenblick? Ist dann mein Körper bloß eine leere Hülle, der doch seinerseits komplexe organische Prozesse weiterführt?
