VOX

Tanztage Berlin 2016 | Sophiensæle

Production Details / Press Releases

Vox dives into the meanderings of the vocal. Vox imitates music and the instruments that make it. Vox erases the body so as to find other ones. Vox disguises, distorts and never drains. Vox shouts, utters, moans, stumbles and above all jubilates. Vox tells without saying. Vox voids.

In her work, choreographer and performer ALINE LANDREAU intertwines textures and environments to question processes of recognition and particularly the emergence of events within performing art. She develops shifting and primitive identities inside works that border experimental music and visual arts.

The multi-instrumentalist ANTOINE MONZONIS-CALVET regularly publishes works with his own musical identities, such as Atone, and with several bands in the electronic experimental post-rock scene. He collaborates as sound designer since 2010 with choreographers like Nathalie Béasse, Simone Rizzo and Aline Landreau. He also regularly works as light designer and technical director for theater and dance companies.

THOMAS SCHAUPP is collaborating as a dramaturge with several choreographers, among others with Kat Válastur, Enrico Ticconi, Tanzinitiative Hamburg/Barbara Schmidt-Rohr and Aline Landreau. He was also assisting Ian Kaler in several projects. As a lecturer and critic he has been invited to festivals and conferences across Europe and Canada, and he was resident critic at ada studio Berlin in the season 2014/2015.

MARION MONTEL works with dance and theater projects as a costume and object designer. She created the costumes for the theater school CNSAD in Paris and regularly collaborates with the french MxM Collective, and among others with Martin Nachbar and Isabelle Schad in Berlin.

Vocal artist UTE WASSERMANN is a composer/performer, improviser and interpreter of contemporary music. She developed many special multivoiced vocal techniques which may be used to explore spatial resonance phenomena. She has given numerous performances of her own solo work and performs regularly with improvising musicians. Her recent projects have included performances, staged productions and recordings.
