Production Details / Press Releases

Bodies that do not fit within the framework of society are treated as foreign bodies and are ultimately rejected. The choreographer wants to look at society through three such different bodies. The unfamiliar body forms that the three bodies create turn over stereotypes about the body. 6 Channels surround sound creates an unfamiliar atmosphere. This performance explores how the audience perceives them and questions the meaning of “foreignness” in our society.

Berlin based Korean choreographer Howool Baek has been working on exploring in detail individ-ual body fragment without face, and suggesting different perspective of the body through decon-struction and transformation of the body. Through the breaking stereotypes of the body, she wants that the audience to look at society from a different perspective. Since 2009, her works have pre-sented internationally such as Dublin Dance Festival, Tanec Praha, Tanzmesse, Noorderzon Festi-val, B-Motion Festival, etc.
