Production Details / Press Releases
Generally, people on stage stand up when the audience sits down to watch and listen to them.
After her two most recent pieces about the motivation to begin and end, this time the choreographer Antje Pfundtner is preferring to only stand up when she feels it is the right thing to do. Standing up, seeking a place, taking action, attempting an insurrection: who says that you have to stand up to make your voice heard? And in contrast, what does remaining seated mean?
On the occasion of the Monologfestival 2019, the Hamburg choreographer Antje Pfundtner is arriving with the third part of her melancholic trilogy in which she – from one performance to the next – repeatedly questions the choreographic and political potential for action inherent in standing up.
Fresh from the Hamburg world premiere of her new solo “Sitzen ist eine gute Idee” at Kampnagel, Antje Pfundtner is now searching for further relevant reasons to stand up and have her voice heard as a soloist in Berlin.
