In “united states” Elpida Orfanidou and Hermann Heisig go on a bizarre trip. They explore hybrid body images where various, partly contradictory states are being united. How do facial expressions transfer to the feet, finger movements into the ears or an enchanted gaze from the eyes to the hands? Both performers cross the borderlines between mental and physical states, as well as those of different dance aesthetics. Searching the poetics of a monstrous body, they create an atmosphere between uncanniness and absurd humour.
