Ulrich Huhn studied modern theater at the Rotterdamse Dansacademie in the Netherlands. He then worked as a freelance dancer in various dance and opera productions in Amsterdam. He was a permanent ensemble member of NEUER TANZ / VA Wölfl in Düsseldorf. In Berlin he works with Rheinhild Hoffmann, Hanna Hegenscheidt and WILHELM GROENER. He is currently studying social and economic communication at the UdK Berlin and is also a member of the artists’ pool of “TanzZeit”, a time for dance in schools.
Assaf Hochman, born in Israel, studied theater at the Fine Arts and Design College in Haifa, studied dance at the Folkwang Hochschule in Essen and was a member of the NEUER TANZ / VA Wölfl group in Düsseldorf. Since 2003 he has been living in Berlin, where he mainly works as a freelance performer. Studied architecture at the TU Berlin and was an intern at STADLER PRENN Architects. He has been involved in various dance, theater, performance and film installation projects (including THE CHITTENDANS and Audimax / Volksbühne Manifestation / Catherine Sullivan, DEAD SEAT # 2 / Big Art Group, sections, TEXTUR, Hotel Hassler and Paravent Privè / WILHELM GROENER, The Mirror / Keren Cytter, CHEAP BLACKY / CHEAP and Bruce LaBruce and PEACHES DOES HERSELF / PEACHES).
Since 2001 the artist Mariola Groener and dancer choreographer Günther Wilhelm have been combining their names and arts with their alter ego WILHELM GROENER.
Günther Wilhelm, who grew up in Munich, studied Butoh, classical and modern dance in Munich and Berlin. He was a long time member of VA Wölfls NEUER TANZ in Düsseldorf and worked among other things. With Dumb Type and Anna Huber. He was a scholarship holder of the Stiftung Kulturfonds and received the Berlin dance scholarship.
Mariola Groener, born in Zabrze (Poland), grew up in Munich. She studied photography and video at the HdK Berlin and at the UGH Essen / Folkwang. She is a winner of the competition The Great Still Picture NRW. In addition to her co-activity as WILHELM GROENER, she continues to work as a freelance artist and performs her work at home and abroad. She is also co-founder of the project and exhibition space “foreverandadayBüro”.
Since the founding of WILHELM GROENER, in addition to your ongoing performance 33 SCIENCES, more than a dozen joint pieces have been performed in Berlin at venues such as HAU, Sophiensaele, Ballhaus Ost, Haus der Berliner Festspiele and Uferstudios. With your pieces of procedure used, Paravent privé and Hotel Hassler you were invited to the TANZPLATTORM 2002, 2006 and 2010.
