In their project »performing archive«, which runs over several years, WILHELM GROENER engage in the topic of the archivistic, its methods, rhythms, connotations, extensions and (re-)orderings. What can a performative archive be or represent? What can the archiving of the performative be? Can bodies and their means be considered as archives? And can the body of work serve as a kind of ‘transformation machine’ that constantly allows for new facets of the performative? Within »Open Spaces« the first presentation now takes place.

Artist Mariola Groener and dancer Günther Wilhelm have been joining their names and arts under the WILHELM GROENER label since 2001. Their interdisciplinary approach generates a performative-choreographic oeuvre, which unfolds between stage performances, site-specific works, lecture, and exhibitions. So far WILHELM GROENER’s oeuvre covers 20 stage works, numerous stations of their ongoing performance project 33 SKIZZEN, several video works, art editions and publications.
